StandbyCars.com Terms & Conditions
By booking vehicle rental online through StandbyCars.com ("StandbyCars") you ("the Customer") agree to the following terms and conditions:
- StandbyCars.com.com is a booking service on behalf of the supplier and you will therefore complete a separate rental agreement directly with the supplier when you collect the vehicle. Your rental is subject to the terms and conditions of the respective Supplier with whom the rental agreement is made.
- All Motor Vehicle Rentals are FINAL. Cancellation penalties depend on motor vehicle type (see Cancellation Policy).
- StandbyCars.com sells vehicle rental from an inventory supplied by each supplier, and does not oversell that inventory. StandbyCars.com does not accept any liability for unavailability of vehicles caused by the supplier over-selling their own vehicle inventory.
- The Customer is required to produce the same current, full and valid driver’s license used when booking the motor vehicle rental when collecting and completing the rental agreement. The Customer will be required to provide a credit card when collecting the vehicle to cover incidental charges. NOTE: The credit card presented must be in the name of one of the party’s that are traveling, it cannot be in the name of a party who is NOT present at the time of picking up the vehicle.
- StandbyCars.com makes its best efforts to ensure that the information available on its web site is accurate. However, StandbyCars.com cannot and does not guarantee that the site is free from errors or faults.
- StandbyCars.com does not accept liability for any errors or omissions and reserves the right to change information published on the site at any time.
- StandbyCars.com does not accept liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising out of the use of or connected with its web site or for any products or services purchased from its web site.
- StandbyCars.com makes no warranty or representation about the fitness or suitability of any product or service advertised on its web site.
- StandbyCars.com receives a payment from the motor vehicle rental companies for the provision of the StandbyCars.com booking service.
- You must be at least 21 years of age, with a current and full driver’s license to book motor vehicle rental on StandbyCars.com. Probationary Licenses are not accepted. Most of the prices displayed are for drivers over 25 years of age. If you are under 25 years of age, at the rental collection point you may be: (a) Asked to pay a surcharge to complete the rental agreement, (b) the rental agreement may be denied and your booking cancelled. (Refer to our calnellation policy)
- These terms do not affect consumers' statutory rights.
- Because of the already discounted prices, neither StandbyCars.com nor the motor vehicle rental company will accept coupons for upgrades, free days, discounts or any other promotions.
- Standyby Cars Accepts Visa Card and Master Card for all New Zealand rentals. For rentals in Australia, Standby Cars Accepts Visa and Master card as well as Diners Card and American Express Cards however the use of Diners and American Express cards will incur a 4% transaction fee which will be passed onto clients at time of booking.
Relocation Conditions:
You will be required to pay a liability bond of between $650 and $1500, dependant on the supplier providing the service.This bond must be paid by Credit Card on collection of the vehicle.The bond will be returned to the credit card at the end of the trip, subject to the suppliers conditions:
Please note that when booking a Relocation Special, if the vehicle booked becomes unavailable, the Supplier may provide another vehicle type, subject to availability.
There is no refund for late pick up or early return of the vehicle.
A booking fee of $25 applies as well as a holding fee of $75. This is charged to your credit card and on pick up of the vehicle the holding fee ($75) is refunded. However in the event you need to cancel your confirmed relocation booking, the holding deposit and booking fee totalling will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
From time to time due to vehicle breakdowns and accidents, a supplier may cancel a confirmed relocation booking. If this occurs, Standby Cars will either find an alternate vehicle to suit your needs or fully refund any funds paid to us at time of booking. This is the extent of our liability.
If you need to make an amendment to an existing booking, a $25 amendment fee will apply.
If you are booking a 4WD vehicle on a relocation deal, please note that due the heavily reduced insurance policies on relocation vehicles, these types of vehicles are subject to the same conditions as 2WD vehicles and must not be driven on unsealed roads.
